Metro, bus services suspended in Greater Noida till 31 March

Noida-Greater Noida metro, city bus services suspended till 31 March in view of rising confirmed COVID-19 cases across the nation, PTI reported.

A 31-year-old man in Greater Noida tested positive for coronavirus on Sunday, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases to six in Gautam Buddh Nagar, officials said on Sunday.

The man stays in Sector Alpha 1, which has been locked down by the district administration for 48 hours to sanitise the area and all residents have been asked to stay indoors, the officials said.

Borders sealed, no one allowed entry in Tripura without screening: Biplab Kumar Deb

In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Janta curfew' in wake of coronavirus pandemic, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb has ordered closure of borders.

"Borders have been sealed, no one can enter into the state without proper screening and permission. We are committed to help you in each possible way," tweeted Deb.

The chief minister on Saturday said 68,304 persons have been screened and 143 persons are in quarantine facilities but not a single positive case of coronavirus infection has been reported in the state so far.

A total of four states have announced a complete lockdown amid the spurt in corona virus cases across the country. The four states are: Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Punjab and West Bengal.

BREAKING: Section 144 imposed in Maharashtra

As the number of cases climbed to 74 in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced the imposition of Section 144 across the state. Announcing Section 144 in Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray said, "I would like to request everyone to continue #JanataCurfew till tomorrow morning. The number of cases has increased considerably. I have no option left but to apply Section 144 in Maharashtra. No flights outside of India will be allowed to land in Mumbai."

Sec 144 in force in Mahrashtra; Janta curfew to continue till tomorrow: Udhhav Thackeray 

As the number of COVID-19 cases reached to 74 in the state, Maharashtra government decided to impose Section 144 of CrPC in all urban areas from 31 March 31. "I would like to request everyone to continue Janata Curfew till tomorrow morning," said Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray.

"Number of cases has increased considerably. I have no option left but to apply Section 144 in Maharashtra," Thackeray added.

No flights outside of India will be allowed to land in Mumbai. "In the wake of corona virus pandemic, the employee strength at the government offices will be reduced to five per cent from the present 25 per cent," Thackeray said.

I meant planned shut down..carefully planned shut down to avoid unnessasary chaos and panic...

First death in Gujarat; toll in nation stands at 7

A 69-year-old man, who had tested positive for COVID-19, passed away in Gujarat's Surat on Sunday. It is the first death in the state due to the virus and third death reported in the nation. 

The toll has risen to seven on Sunday.

341 confirmed COVID-19 cases reported so far: Health ministry

As of Sunday, five deaths due to the novel coronavirus have been recorded, according to ICMR. "Two more deaths have been reported across the country on Sunday, one in Maharashtra and the other in Bihar. However, we are assessing the reason of deaths," saidHealth ministry

So far India has reported 341 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Have capacity to conduct 10,000 tests per day, ICMR chief 

The five percent of infected people who get admitted to the hospital are given supportive treatment and in few cases new medicines are also given, ICMR Director-General Balram Bhargav.

The Health Ministry has conducted Covid-19 tests on 5,000 individuals in the past one week. "Currently, we have the capacity to conduct 60,000-70,000 tests in a week," said ICMR director.

"We have conducted 15,000-17,000 tests so far. We have the capacity to conduct 10,000 tests per day, it means we can conduct 50,000-70,000 per week," ICMR chief.

Patna death yet to be confirmed as COVID-19 casualty: Health ministry

The death of the 38-year-old COVID-19 patient who passed away in AIIMS, Patna on Sunday is yet to be confirmed as COVID-19 casualty, according to ICMR. "We are checking details. We are awaiting confirmation from Patna," said Health ministry.
