Don't simply dismiss it like that , concentration of power is plague in our country . By dividing power and responsibilities , it will lead to greater accountability and results .

Even our IAS,IPS , judges have too much power , their powers need to be pruned and distributed to lower branches .

check every developed nation , all of them have local bodies with some rights and responsibilities .  Their own police force , justice system , hospitals , universities ,etc .

If our cities have to become world class , we must devolve power . State governments are hijacking cities for their selfish interests  , they are afraid of losing control and revenue .

Same way center is taking all rights from states and wants to become all powerful but has it ever helped in better governance ?

Totally agree.

Decentralized power distribution with accountability higher up will yield great results.

But, unfortunately Central govt is setting a wrong precedent in this regard.
