How the heck did she do what she did? Qanon became like a mass delusion not just for those fringe people who believe in conspiracy theories but also for many smart and well-educated people. I briefly dated a girl who is an engineer and is very smart. We used to discuss a lot of interesting topics including philosophy, medicine, mediation, etc. After the pandemic started, she lost her job. Then she was introduced to Qanon by a family member. She gradually became withdrawn and began spending all her time on some online forums that spout crazy conspiracy theories. She gradually became an antivaxxer and we had fierce arguments. She went to "Stop the Steal Protests" all over the country. So, in just over 6 months, her demeanor completely changed and it was quite shocking! As late as 10 days ago, she was telling me how Trump is still going to get a 2nd term.
