Start using Stock Screeners .. There are a lot of them available online. One of my fav ones is FinViz.com. ITs free. You can apply the criteria you are looking for stocks and filter the stocks based on the criteria ... 

To identify growth stocks use criteria below 

• EPS Q/Q (EPS Growth)
• Sales Past 5yr, Sales Y/Y TTM (Revenue or Sales Growth)  - Earnings per share can be shown to grow by reducing expenses. So need to use Sales as a filter. 
• Free Cash Flow Growth - represents the real cash generated for shareholders.
• Sales Q/Q - Growth is used to capture 'Earnings momentum'

Focus on last one year and upto 3 yrs.

Also focus on Debt/Eq to understand how much debt the company has compared to its equity. 

Short Ratio - < 5. Shows the trend. If its more than 5 it indicates a bearish sentiment.
