dasari4kntr Posted February 26, 2021 Report Posted February 26, 2021 Philosophy (from Greek: φιλοσοφία, philosophia, 'love of wisdom'[1][2][3]) is the study of general and fundamental questions, such as those about reason, existence, knowledge, values, mind, and language.[4][5] Such questions are often posed as problems[6][7] to be studied or resolved. Main Branches of Philosophy Metaphysics - ("What is there?", "What is it like?") Epistemology - ("What do we know?", "What does it mean to say that we know something?", "What makes justified beliefs justified?", and "How do we know that we know?") Ethics - (questions of human morality by defining concepts such as good and evil, right and wrong, virtue and vice, justice and crime) Logic - (mostly mathematics...) Aesthetics - (philosophy of art, beauty and taste..etc) Metaphysics Ontology: (the study of what there is or what exists) Ontology is the branch of philosophy that studies concepts such as existence, being, becoming, and reality it is generally categorized under the metaphysics. it deals with... does god exists? do moral values exists? do possibilities exists? do physical objects exists? Epistemology will update Ethics note: this is my rough notes, will keep update based on my new readings... Quote

Listen to Stepehen West who hosts Philosophize this on spotify The concise manner in which he distills complex philosophical thoughts is quite insightful. I love listening to philosophy poscasts when I run. 2 Quote
