Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, a labour party MP in the British House of Commons, has been tweeting and making strong statements about the farmers’ protests in and out of parliament. Dhesi, who is of Indian origin, represents Slough, just outside London and the most diverse constituencies in all of the UK. People of South Asian origin are among the largest minorities in Slough.

Dhesi’s statements have angered the Indian government and this week’s debate in the British parliament on the protests and human rights in India, prompted the Indian foreign secretary to summon the British high commissioner in Delhi to advise MPs not to speak about the internal matters of another country. In 2019, civil aviation and housing minister Hardeep Puri had said he wouldn’t have met Dhesi in India if he had known about the MP’s views on Kashmir.

Dhesi said he’s outspoken about issues such as the mistreatment of minorities in Pakistan, and Article 370, because “if we do not stand for the rights of others, then what exactly are we doing in media and politics?”

In an interview to The Wire, Dhesi said “human rights are a universal issue” and the British parliament had held debates on abuses in other countries as well. He said he has always being outspoken and have to also represent the concerns of his constituents.

Dhesi said it pains him and other Sikhs in the UK that when they hold langars they are good and when they raise their voice they become Khalistanis.

I am educated and i can clearly see anti India elements at play to negate the farm laws

If you don't know how things are being played, your education gives you no value

The subsequent investigation and prosecution lasted almost twenty years. This was the most expensive trial in Canadian history, costing nearly C$130 million. The Governor General-in-Council in 2006 appointed the former Supreme Court Justice John C. Major to conduct a commission of inquiry. His report, which was completed and released on 17 June 2010, concluded that a "cascading series of errors" by the Government of Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) had allowed the terrorist attack to take place.[13]

just like swastika was misused by Hitler and how it cannot be used by hindus outside india, sikhs khalsa symbol was misused by khalistanis, the protests are clearly funded by ISI to reignite Khalistani movement in india, Canadians khalistanis adding an extra hand

you either do not know history or you were born little late and not willing to know history

That is their religious flag..if khalistan is a free country they want.. they use a version of nishan sahib for the khalistan flag.. they both are sikhs for God sake..what other versions of flags they will use you think ? Flag made by bjp or rss jhoomla gang ?

Not all khalistan separatists are terrorists...and religious flags used in common cannot make them all khalistanis.they are indians for God sake..stop dividing people for benefits of bjp political party.

You are using the same brainwashed bhakts version of propaganda.. the farmer association of madhya pradesh and parts of up also called for farmer bill protest ..if they use saffron flags. Will they be considered as rss terrorists ? No right ? It is easy to divide people for sale of one political bjp party..

The khalistan movement which was long forgotten and backed by pakistan is now again in mainstream discussion because of zoomla gang propaganda to dessimate farmers protest ,the largest human protest recorded in recent times...

Yeah call then all terrorist without addressing a zoomla bill farmers bill that was passed in parliment while suspending the entire opposition . great for democracy

NEW DELHI: Two persons, including a 21-year-old man who assaulted a policeman on duty at Red Fort with a spear on January 26 during the farmers’ agitation, has been arrested in connection with the violence at the historic monument, police said on Wednesday.

The duo, Maninderjit Singh, 23, and Khempreet Singh, 21, who were actively involved in the violence, were arrested on Tuesday. According to police, Maninderjit Singh, a Dutch national settled in Birmingham, UK, was arrested at the IGI Airport while trying to flee from India on forged travel documents and posed himself as Jarmanjit Singh.

As per his plans, Maninderjit was to fly first to Nepal from Delhi and then head to the UK. A look out circular was also issued by the police against him in connection with the case and he is previously involved in two criminal cases, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch Monika Bharadwaj said. He originally belongs to a village in Gurdaspur district of Punjab.

“This is not the first time he accused of something. He is a habitual criminal and was previously involved in another riots case registered with the Rangar Nangal police station in Gurdaspur and was also involved in a case of cheating at Indira Gandhi International Airport Police Station in New Delhi,” said the police.

“There are video footages on record, which shows the presence of the accused alongside the unlawfully assembled riotous mob carrying a ‘bhaala’ (spear) during the farmers’ agitation on January 26,” Bhardwaj said. The senior police further said that electronic evidence shows that the accused had also visited Singhu border protest site on different dates.

“He holds a Netherlands passport. Presently, the accused along with his family is settled in Birmingham, and is employed as a labourer in construction field. In December 2019, the accused visited India and due to the 2020 lockdown, he could not go back to his workplace,” the officer added. He was produced before a court and his four days of police custody remand has been taken.
