Funny thing , most people on ventilators die.

In Bengaluru's biggest medical college over 90% of people on ventilators die within a month. The data would be pretty similar in private hospitals but they will never release the numbers

Those are crude statistics, it all depends on various factors, complications will be more after weaning from ventilators.In my own personal experience 4 out of 10 people who are on ventilators successfully survive , we cannot generalise the whole thing and there are various types of assisted ventilation too ..very large topic...kindly read the pdf from below link you can understand the complexity of weaning away from ventilator.
