HYDERABAD: Not everything seems cordial between Andhra Congress chief Botcha Satyanarayana and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.

Satyanarayana, who is known to harbour political ambitions, has been in overdrive ever since he was appointed president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on June 6. This has not been to the liking of Kiran Kumar Reddy.

Satyanarayana’s style of functioning from day one is different—he is trying to project himself as the future leader of the state, to the chief minister’s discomfiture.

Satyanarayana’s alleged complaint to the AICC that it was because of the chief minister’s lack of initiative in keeping the Congress flock together that to 26 of them switched sides to YSR Congress leader Jagan Mohan Reddy, has added fuel to the fire. Though Satyanarayana denied writing such a letter, the tenor in which he made the denial suggested something contrary. He said cryptically: “If I have to complain against the Chief Minister, would I be writing a letter to the AICC?”

Hyderabad: Even as Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) honorary president Vijayamma are vying with each other to win the hearts of BCs with promises of allotting more seats in the 2014 polls, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana mooted a new proposal of allotting seats to each caste across the state in proportion to their population for the general elections.

Botcha demanded Naidu and Vijayamma to accept his proposal if they were really committed for the political empowerment of the backward classes. Talking to mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Botcha ridiculed Naidu and Vijayamma’s promises to BCs by saying that both were shedding crocodile tears. “The real motive behind their promises is to come to power in the 2014 polls. If these two leaders really stand for political empowerment of the downtrodden, they should accept my proposal and come for a discussion to chalk out an action plan,” he said.

The PCC chief felt the concept of allotting seats to various castes based on their population would pave the way for an “egalitarian society”. As per his proposal, of the 294 seats in the state Assembly, 45 percent will be given to BCs, 7 percent to minorities and 33 percent to OCs according to their population. Of the 33 percent seats allotted to OCs, 15 percent will be for Kapus, eight percent for Reddys and five percent for Kammas.

good drama to deviate things

What is there to deviate, if botsa dropped from cabinet after 6 months it will be quite evident he is trying for CM post and jaggadu kept him out

Or may be internal tussle btw top 4 reddies (A2,sajjjala ,peddireddy,yv subba ) in govt vs botsa

Yeah but botsa can bend even well, and his caste and region will be an added advantage, they may lure him and weaken ycp

Botsa Satyanarayana wields the power of the de facto Chief Minister in the three districts of this region (North East Andhra). The police stations, MRO offices, MDO offices – all function under his control. His family dominates the politics in the region. His control and use of the local liquor mafia, goonda elements to neutralize opposition and exercise wanton misuse of power, sustains his domination.
