Technically Hinduism is growin in India.

It has to do with the way Hindus are counted in census. Everyone who's not muslim/Xian/Sikh/Jain etc are clubbed into Hindu, whether they identify as HIndu or not.

but recently there is an uptick to people identifying openly as Hindus. Especially among tribals and some sc groups.

so Hinduism is perhaps the fastest growing religion in India now
