No one is criticizing sale of air India ..it is actually other profit making sectors that modi government sold to Adani and ambani syndicates ..

Air India was long due for privitization but since it is name carrier of India and no one came forward it was pending for long..

Don't mixup the criticism of other sectors and favour them towards sale of air India ..this is what called jhumla..even faking the criticisms ..people are tired of this fake propaganda...

And angry that the  murder of farmers,  bjp politician roaming free

If we don’t slowly start privatizing or stake sale in PSU’s, every PSU will meet the fate of Air India.

Air India’s first attempt at stake sale happened in 2001-2002, for upto 30% stake sale. But due to Communist and Congress’s opposition it did not happen.

Come 2005-06, Air India and Indian Airlines were merged and the result is a disaster. NACIL, a holding company for both and it was such a massive failure. Then comes 30,000 crores bail out, fleet ordering and mounting losses and debts.

In 2002, if we had sold 30% stake sale when Air India was still performing better and in profits, we would have avoided losing one lakh crores over the last twenty years and Govt would still be left with a minimality stake in Air India.

This is not about Congress/BJP. It’s commerce and if we don’t intervene at the right and take proper decisions to disinvest, then all that it will remain is bad loans and write offs.

Air India stake sale in early 2000’s, when Arun Shourie was disinvestment minister…invited for 40% stake sale.

Air India was in profits and literally every major airline corporation including Luft, Swiss, Singapore, BA etc expressed interest to buy the stake. However some rules were still not favourable and then comes the great communists who had considerable strength in Lok Sabha to oppose this stake sale.

The result, we lost one lakh crores in the last 15 years. 1,00,000 crores were spent on Air India to keep it running..

One decision to disinvest and stake sale, Air India could have been a profitable airline and instead of losing money, would have contributed for the economy immensely.

This is what it happens for every other PSU if we don’t sell the stake when they are financially sound.
