Ganguly is a master at backstage cricket politics , jay shah is the novice Buffoon here . Ganguly even defeated  the mighty  jagmohan dalmiya. 

He always wanted shastri gone but he couldn't touch kohli who was in form , now that  kohli became chokli he got rid of Ravi Shastri and Kohli's captaincy 

Dont be surprised if kohli himself is axed from the team if his form stays the same for next year 

Frankly it's a good change kohli got handed a dominant team and couldn't win any big Icc tourneys. His batting has also been average or below par last two years 

Team is more important than any star player

That was due to backstage politics , his average was much better than most of indian team when he retired 

There is a reason most indian cricketers with any independent thought are never allowed in top position at BCCI. It takes a lot of political manipulation to get to that stage
