Specific markets might still do well ani anukuntunna, people are still moving in huge numbers from blue to red states so that might keep up the demand. But again if paychecks don't support mortgage then people can't buy. I think it will take up to a year for things to catch up, 4% might not bother but if interest touches 6% then it will tighten up wallets. Inflation is eating into paychecks as well. Short term spike untadi, as people will now hurry to close and old homes, inventory ki inka demand ekkuva avtadi in coming months. I still don't think prices will be in free fall but they might stop increasing for a while.
