They do get lot of money from satellite and OTT and other streams. 

What they are saying in general it should collect around that number at box office to break even. 
This may be some kind of manipulation... 

every movie in the history of US cinema is a flop as per IRS. They start a LLC for the movie and show huge losses, which are claimed by parent studios to offset other profits. They show losses by inflating all kinds of costs and remuneration etc. and they send millions to tax haven countries in the name of software/ editing/ VFX etc. just like Google/FB etc does.

2Billion ah...in Indian Rs? Dont say its US $....thats fu*king lie. He simultaneously shot good portion of Avatar 3, 4 and 5 annaru and total was around $1billion...so avg ga $250m is budget for each part....but marketing kosam another $250m each...so ila chusukunte, $2billion for 4 movies along with marketing.

regardless, for this part 2 total $500m and movie has to make min of $1Bn to $1.2Bn for breakeven....just above avg unna vachesthadi....but unless this movie makes close to $2bn, next three parts ki craze undadhu

It's not 2 B...

They said it need to collect that much to break even at box office - cost of production ia 250 to 400M for this part.

Streaming and other revenue will be huge for this..

It can easily collect with even average reviews - 15 days holidays time + 3d + IMAX everywhere.
