HSA ki low premium, edaina unexpected surprises unte ah difference kattali....Non-HSA munde high premiums kaduthav, tharuvatha no major surprise.

but regarless HSA or non-HSA, out of pocket max tharuvatha insurance okelaaga cover chesthadi...so end of the day peddaga difference undadhu...just a little (it all depends on the policy ur company provides). HSA ki mana side contribution lekapothe, sudden ga pregnant or some surgeries aithe, appatikappudu out-of-pocket max varaku manam funds arrange cheyyali....adokkate headache...if u have HSA account and have funds from last few yrs, then no need to worry much

S. Out of pocket max will be higher. Some employers contribute to hsa which is good. Hsa and non-hsa, how much is the diff?.how old are you?

If you are single and heathy ayite go for HSA, HSA is tax free money and you can accumulate it you don't use it, you can also invest HSA money (options will be in your account), future la you can fund all your medical expenses (co pay and deductible, pharmacy etc) from your HSA account.

Usually emmanna surgeries unte go with normal plan otherwise HSA

HSA investment returns ki tax untadi kadaa ?

The simple trick is to count your total cost

= Your premium from paycheck + Total Out of pocket for Family - Company contribution to your HSA

for all plans and then compare

If you have any surgeries or any major medical expense planned , High deductible or low deductible does not matter much as if you calculate the total cost you pay , they will be same for all these plans with a difference of just a couple of hundred dollars at most

If you do not have major medical expense planned , then this is where it gets tricky , you can then opt for lower premiums for high deductible plan , save in HSA upto the IRS limit and then park it for future expenses , this will be helpful for a rainy day

Depending on what your expenses will be for next year, plan it accordingly.

absolutely true....this is why I choosed HSA because end of the day, total cost for both types of insurance will be almost same (couple hundred $'s more in HSA anthe). Couple yrs back HSA lo undaga, pregnancy and its entire journey till delivery motham covered...and total cost for me was same as Non-HSA (compared it with my colleague who was in same case).
