STORY IN BRIEF
------------------------------------

Veerabhadraiah (enacted by Rajendra Gupta and is based on real life Paritala Sriramulaiah's character) is a just leader and follower of MLA, Narasimha Reddy (played by Kitty and refers to real life G. Narayana Reddy, the father of Suryanarayana Reddy alias Suri) from Anadapuram (Ananthapuram) district of Andhra Pradesh.

Veerabhadraiah gains a lot of popularity both in his caste as well as among the lower castes unlike Narasimha Reddy, who is not popular with other castes.

Other than Narasimha Reddy, this rising popularity of Veerabhadraiah is despired by Nagamani Reddy (played by Kota Srinivasa Rao and refers to real life Sane Chenna Reddy, the ex-MLA from the Ananthapur district).

Slowly the despise becomes hatred and both of them plan to kill Veerabhadraiah with the help of a trusted follower of Veerabhadraiah!

After he was killed in a gruesome manner, Veerabhadraiah's eldest son, Shankar (played by Sushant and refers to real life Paritala Hari) joins the guerrilla moment. However he too gets killed (by the cops) and later it is the turn of the Veerabhariah's youngest son, Prathap (Vivek Oberoi and refers to real life ex-TDP MLA, Paritala Ravi), to take revenge for the killings of his father and brother.

Now other than avenging the deaths of his family members, Prathap has to face some rough tide from Bukka reddy, the son of Naga Mani Reddy (played by Abhimanyu Sekhar Singh and refers to real life Obul Reddy, the son of Sane Chenna Reddy). Bukka Reddy is a serial rapist.

At the same time a popular film hero of Andhra Pradesh, Shivaji Rao (played by Shatrughan Sinha and refers to real life NT Rama Rao, the ex-chief minister of Andhra Pradesh) becomes the CM of the state and he pulls Prathap to his newly formed Praja Desam Party.

Now one by one, Prathap starts taking his revenge and the film comes to a sudden end and the rest of the story can be found in Rakta Charitra-2 which deals with the tiff between Paritala Ravi and Narayana Reddy's son, Maddelacheruvu Suri, played by Suriya.

ANALYSIS OF THE MOVIE & PERFORMANCES
---------------------------------------------------

Before the analysis is written, the director ram Gopal Varma should be congratulated for making a masterpiece after a string of flops like Rann. The whole film which has been inspired by real life characters is a treat to watch for and it is likely that the film would become another cult based film.

All the actors and actresses did justice to their roles in the Rakta Charitra-1.

However three actors stand apart from others. They are Vivek Oberoi, Abhimanyu Sekhar Singh and Shatrughan Sinha.

Vivek Oberoi has excelled himself as his body language resembled the body language of the late Paritala Ravi. He seems to have done a lot of footwork on Ravi.

Abhimanyu Sekhar Singh as Bukka Reddy (real life Obul Reddy) just rocks. After looking at his performance, one could not but help saying that he is the only one who could have done justice to the 'sadism' filled role of Bukka Reddy.

Shatrughan Sinha is another treat to watch for. His body language is a replica of the late NT Rama Rao, the ex-chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.

TECHNICAL ANALYSIS

There are some scenes which are chilling. Such scenes were excentiated by the excellent editing and chilling music.

The screenplay & cinematography are simply excellent and the locations are taken care of well.

There are some scenes in the movie which might be too violent for some, but care has been taken to not to show the frank methods of killings.

Editing and costumes are okay. Music is one department which excelled in many scenes.

DRAWBACKS OF THE MOVIE

1) Violence exceeded in few places.

The movie manages to keep the people clung to their seats. The movie appeals to the audience for two reasons. 1) This a first of its kind in Hindi cinema where the violence in rural areas is shown in real terms. 2) Almost all the movies in Hindi in recent times are just overdoses of love, romance and infatuation! A welcome relief.

sorry boss kittus role nijamga ithee suri valla father di kadu jc diwakar reddy valla father di. and suri valla father crctga ithee 1st part lo chupinchala. and more over paritala hari was younger to ravi and he died b4 25 yrs only. and he worked with gaddar when he was an naksalite. and due to that ravi got a strong base to become a leader fastly.  and more over obul reddy was killed after ntr was died ts a mistake in the film.
