Muslims - Mughals came around 15th century way before British....There are many Arrogant Muslim king's who not only looted India, put hindus in a vulnerable situation - either turn to Islam or pay huge taxes.

 

We would be exactly like Hindu's now in Pakistan or Afghanistan...where extorsions, rapes of Hindu's is a common thing.

british raakapoyinte, India would not have been one country. Is that a bad thing? Not at all.

 

mari democracy antaava, Indians are not so far behind intellectually with the western world. They would eventually have caught up with the modern world.

 

If not entire India, atleast pockets of India, atleast along the coast would've been insanely modern and deomocratic and developed.

 

And no need to paint Hindus as victims. They fought bravely, defended their turfs against muslim kings. Even when british arrived, it was the marathas that were among the biggest powers then, not just the muslims.

 

If Hindus were so weak, India would've already become completely muslim.

i partly agree but we can never predict what would have exactly happened without the british colonizing us , you're saying as if other countries which weren't colonized by the british are still living in dark ages , 

 

a prosperous country like india would have definitely done well for itself ....

 

and yeah caste discriminination is an entirely different topic , that has got nothing to do with plundering our country and claiming that we got lucky because of them lol...

British employed Indirect control in Imperialist Management bro... rest all Europeans have used Direct control i.e paternalism and complete cultural assimilation.  It gradually granted self rule and wanted to add India to its common wealth i.e. an economic Union which our leader didnot accept. Caste discrimination chala major role bro... Because of illiteracy reasons and self aggrandisement of Indian Rulers and no Idea of Nation called India... British gave up finally because of growing middle class getting nationalist ideas from Ireland not because of Chamcha rajas, Barring Tipu no one even thought of raising a navy...  I'm not saying we are lucky because of British rule, but there is a silver lining in the form of Democratic institutions in westminister model and a magical wand Rule of Law
