USCIS has no interest in doing anything to make it easier for Indians (or anyone else) to get green cards in the EB2 category (or in any other category). USCIS’s obligation is to assiduously follow the law that Congress has written in this regard. That law says that only 7% of the people admitted as immigrants in any single fiscal year may be born in the same country. Vastly more Indians are seeking to immigrate to the United States than can be admitted in any given fiscal year without violating this rule, and so the vast majority of them have to wait until a later fiscal year to be admitted.

USCIS doesn’t make these rules. Congress makes these rules. If and when Congress decides that it is willing to allow more immigrants generally, or more Indians specifically, and amends the immigration laws of the United States to do so, USCIS will process those applications in whatever manner Congress directs.

Given that the current Congress likely has more people who want to see immigration reduced rather than increased, I do not think that the odds that anything will be done to make it easier for Indians (or anyone else) to immigrate to the United States are at all good.

I will state that very few Americans consider the long waiting list for Indian EB2 green cards to be a significant concern. While you can get a good portion of Americans to agree that it’s wrong that it takes so long, it’s not something most of them care about; they’re far more concerned about health care, education, job creation, national security, abortion, gay marriage, or taxes. The misfortunate plight of some foreigner waiting on a line to get into the country for decades at a time just isn’t important enough to sway voters. Because it’s not important to voters, it’s not important to Congress: Congress cares about things that are important to voters. (They also care about what’s important to donors, but this is also an issue that is largely unimportant to donors.)

So, don’t get your hopes up.

yep man, biaches would rather give us much diplomatic replies as if we are all fcking blind! They conveniently swept what clinton did under the rug and yelled around "Putin" to create russophobia, i mean seriously wtf is going on in this country! I would rather call it a police state than a democracy!

People are paying 100k for a fcking undergrad degree while these biaches are eating 40bucks a plate lunch on tax payers money, much hypocrisy.

And coming to that above quora post, biach should remember where her grandparents came from, i bet her diplomatic tone will rot away real quick if native americans start a rule to stop white immigration to america, fcking hypocrites at their best!
