Current Average FOIA Request Processing Times

Please note that these times do not include the days required to scan the request into our processing system. (All listed times are in business days)

USCIS uses a three-track system to process FOIA requests for A-File material.

  • Track One (49 days): Simple requests.
  • Track Two (91 days): Complex inquiries that normally require additional search and review time.
  • Track Three (50 days): Requests by individuals scheduled for a hearing before an immigration judge.

USCIS uses a two-track system to process FOIA requests for non-A-File material.

  • Track One (33 days)
  • Track Two (303 days): Processing time impacted by sensitivity of records, volume of records and extent of review process.

USCIS uses a three-track system to process FOIA appeals.

  • Track One (21 days)
  • Track Two (25 days)
  • Track Three (28 days)

If you would like to narrow the scope of your request to potentially qualify for faster processing, please contact:

Jill A. Eggleston

The processing times are all bull$hit. It's been 8 months I requested a 140 copy. Still I have 550 ahead of me.

the intent of this post is to let everyone know about the new digital process of obtaining things

and it would be much much faster than the olden way of filing Bhayya or bro or Brother
