Also to answer your question, is Priscilla Chan financially dependent on her husband? I would say no, because she went to UCSF for Med school, she worked as a pediatrician for a while. She probably wouldn't be doing as much philanthropy as she is doing now, but any doctor in the area would be making over a quarter million a year, and her lifestyle wouldn't be any different. She would have taken a longer time to own a house on loan, but besides that I would say she is financially independent.

Let us talk about a typical desi vlog household yeah.. dude is working in the US making 150k as a senior software engineer. Girl is from India with some cs degree. When the proposal comes, she accepts and comes over here - convinced through beauty status exchange of course as I have said many times.  New life in the US for her is an upgrade. Like you said, to become financially independent, she takes up a job making 60k as an analyst. Now as a family  they share their expenses, buy good clothes, cars and live in a decent 700k house in a suburban neighborhood. This is a good lifestyle for her - a far cry from the life she was living in India. Now if she were to be living independently she would be on 60k only and will not get the same lifestyle as the combined 210k. Yes, she can live on 60k - eat outside once a month rather than once a week, not live in a 700k house, not drive an Audi but a used Honda instead. So even though she is making enough to sustain herself she doesn’t have the same lifestyle. Now being accustomed to a certain lifestyle is dependency. Over time it happens regardless of how controlled you are. It just isn’t the same.

I give you a perfect solution and then you apply your own boundary conditions. Oh well, let's say she makes 60k and he makes 60k, will her lifestyle be any different than taking longer to payoff debt on her house?

After divorce, wife on road what she do? Instead if she is financially independent, no need for alimony.

Not all educated people are financially independent. Kind of sad really, all these homemakers are wasting their education. They could have skipped going to school if they wanted to be homemakers.

Also what happens after the untimely death of the husband, if the wife is financially dependent on her husband.

Financial independence is a direction towards scrapping alimony.

I doubt they will. Current laws aren’t favorable to men tbf.
