My husband is a horrible person

Jeff bezos' success is well-deserved. People who love dissing about billionaires like Bezos, Zuckerberg or Gates forget the fact that they weren't born millionaires/billionaires. Bezos's mother was 17 when she had him and his stepfather Bezos is an immigrant from Cuba. He gave up a successful career in wallstreet and moved cross-country to Seattle to start Amazon when he was 30 years old. Elon Musk instead of retiring after ebays' acquisition of paypal and becoming a millionaire pumped his own money into Tesla and SpaceX and was on the verge of bankruptcy. How many people would actually take these risks? These people are super successful because they believed in what they did, took huge risks and worked super hard to be where they are today.

I agree that people should have their basic needs like education, healthcare, etc met. More People would be successful if their basic needs are met. But it doesn't mean that you should diss billionaires and call them 'just lucky'.

People who hate Capitalism should remember the fact that all great socialist superpowers failed eventually. My only gripe is that Amazon is not a great place to work.

sure , their success may be well deserved but no one in the world deserves billions of dollars while poor people go hungry , go bankrupt for healthcare

read about the horror stories here on how people go bankrupt when there is a health emergency or

how they have to fight for a minimum wage etc

just because you are successful does not mean you should look down on others who are not successful , there is a reason why they are being dissed , these corps pay very less taxes , may be less than even you , all they do is take as much money they can and pay negligible taxes

You should realize the fact that Bezos' net worth is tied to Amazon's stock and he doesn't actually have $200bn in his bank account.

No, I don't look down on anyone and i respect everyone irrespective of their profession, gender, sexual orientation, etc. I agree that people who had a secure, safe childhood are actually privileged in the sense that they don't have to worry about where their next meal comes from or where they are going to sleep for the next couple of days. I agree that who have a secure life hit a genetic jackpot. All I'm saying is that billionaires are not evil and they are really hard-working people who work for something they strongly believe in and took risks that most people wouldn't even take in their wildest dreams.

Corporations pay less taxes because they use loopholes in laws and they have to satisfy their shareholders and make money for them. If the laws were better they'd be paying their fair share because these corporations are legit. It's the laws that should be blamed, not the corporations.

easy to blame corporations 😀

I know, even google used ireland as a tax haven. I repeat, the laws are to be blamed.

Do you think Larry Page wanted to build a great search engine as a graduate student at Stanford or do you think he wanted to evade tax laws to make more money for Google shareholders? Do you think Elon Musk wanted to build electric cars for mass consumption or do you think he wanted to make Tesla shareholders rich?
