Yeah, these kind of things happen dorkina dabbulato, even happened to me and many people will have such experiences.. Don't know why. 

I found money similar way once around 3k ankunta, we had put them aside and later dropped in vemulawada hundi 😀

I once found an envelope containing roughly about 900$ while walking in my apartment complex. All the friends, I was walking with suggested that I keep it. Also, may be go to a casino and use this money. It was my lucky day. I went to the Apartment office the next day and handed them the money telling him exactly which block I found it near.

By the time I came back from work the next day, I had a fruit basket waiting for me. It was someone's salary and he and his girlfriend had just moved into the apartment. They felt really happy to have got the money back and sent me the fruit basket as a way to express their thanks. Was happy that the money found its way back to it's rightful owner. May be unrelated, that week, I got an appreciation from the client EVP for some work I delivered earlier. That got me a spot award and 25$ gift card.
