Local body polls are a joke in india , they should be abolished and  just filled with nominated posts , atleast money will be saved

Its all good, if dumbfcuks in the BJP brought in money from outside to spend it in Hyd.

No , every party in power behaves like a power hungry despot . Mayor's , councillors are just collecting agents . Chief minister takes the decision every step .

Nee york mayor has the power to build metros , hospitals , universities , etc . What can Hyderabad mayor do without orders from state government ?

Even Chinese citiesnhave great local administration filled by nomination . Their cities have much more power and revenue control .

Power is being concentrated and that reflects all over the country , just notice that PMO has to order for every single big decision . Instead of experts doing work , we have a elected autocrats taking every decision

I wish I was joking , the City council's in china are very powerful . They have more power than their state governments over city matters .

Just look at schenzen city , they are probably the most modern city in the world . They have plans 20-30 years into the future

Is there any other way to behave in politics, that has been proven to work in India? India is still a feudal society, and its politics just reflects the general attitude that is acceptable to the public.

anyway, most structures (centralized/decentralized) are fungible, and what matters is intent of those at the top and those who are driving the change.

India has already showed its intent in voting Modi twice, that it doesn't give a fcuk about development, and just wants to maintain the social/economic status quo.  With this reality, more powerful to local councillors/mayors would make not much difference, other than to strengthen their hold in the system.

As long as people didn't vote for BJP, it means people of that region want to do better than what they are doing curently, simple.

Sure, all parties are the same in India. But BJP is disgustingly communal, and should be rejected by anyone with a shred of decency. Let people have a healthy debate on who to vote for among the non-BJP choices.

yes. but it has nothing to do with inherent superiority of that kind of structure.. rather than chinese intent to grow rapidly.

that intent doesn't exist in any corner in India.
