WBA mida ni opinion? Stuck at high 20’s and not moving

At this point, it looks like a classic Dividend/Value Stock Trap.

Positives

  • Dividend Aristocrat - Meaning it increased dividends for more than 25 consecutive years.
  • Lowest Price in 26 Yrs.
  • Low PE and very low Forward PE ratios. Means there is value in stock.
  • Like MMM, GE its Planning to sell Boots (UK Pharmacy Chain), Sheilds Health Solution (Specialty Pharma business) to reduce debt.
  • Planning to restore investors confidence in the company and growth.

Negatives

  • Company cut its outlook for this year.
  • High Interest rates is taking a toll on its debt. Very high Debt/Equity ratio of 2.7.
  • Reduced consumer spending and IRS seeking to collect $2.7 billion in unpaid taxes.
  • Making lower lows. Current price below 7-day, 50-Day, and 200-Day Moving averages.

If dividend is cut like MMM and LEG which are both Dividend Kings (50 consecutive years of Dividend growth), its will go down 20-25%. Look at LEG price today. Stock is down 25% on news that it cut its Dividend.

Conclusion - Avoid until there is a clear direction from the company. Its a classic Value/Dividend trap. Do not $ Cost Average it down. IT will see lower prices before it goes up. Move your money into another stock. May be NVO, LLY.

Recession is a challenging time. Evidence is in their results. Foot traffic reduced. They do not plan to cut prices but if they are forced to do, price will drop more. Its not going anywhere. Keep tracking it. If you buy, you need to have patience.

PFE results are very good. Data showed how its not relying on Covid sales any more. Good buy IMO. FYI - I own the stock.

For all AI enthusiasts .. Look at SOUN

ITs an AI based company who have automated voice solutions. Their AI Voice assistant with ChatGPT is launched in some Cars recently. NVDA is invested in it. What's bothering me is the insiders selling some stock in last 1 month.

Its been wildly swinging every day between 4-5. May be a good buy around 4-4.25. I will let you know when I buy it.

@Konebhar6 Nice you followed through. Just a footnote, that while backtesting, also check that no news came out in that time frame, that may have affected the movement of the stock. For margins as small as those for the above two, does not seem to be the case obviously.

I have build a framework that looks at historic prices and goes back to what happened last 20-30 times and calculate the recovery days it took. I pick stocks that has high recovery rate for with in 1-2 days. I take decisions based on that.

My filters also include Volume and Market Cap and NYSE exchange.

Its an experiment and playing with 15K. Let me see how much I can make in a month. Pick 3 stocks daily and turnover the money.
