if you fan of movies and go to movies every week like you spend $30-$40 for 2 tickets in cinema hall ...Thatw ill translate into $1000 a year (every alternate week accounted)....  .... then for 5 yrs it is $5000
then the home theater is useful .... and you have to use it for every week for 5 yrs ....
ofcourse you will watch the movie late ... meaning 3 months tharwaatha choosthaavu not when released and also if you are into paalabhishekam/fanabhishekham then you dont need home theater ....

so ROI calculation is this 5 yrs ... every 2 weeks 1-2 movies you have to watch ....

BTW, 1st 6 montsh i watched every week .... in covid time ... and then slowly .... reduced ... now last year 2022 ... we watched only 1-2 movies as a family... amone 1-2 movies..... anthe ..... I installed this in 2019 and it is 4 yrs and not realised its ROI .... alaagani choodatledaa ante we watch all movies and shows in teh house on the 75 inch TV 🙂

So it is just show off to own it .... else no ROI ....if you are not into show off/ flase prestige then avoid ... also it does not add anything to home value because you need to upgrade in 5 yrs because new technology comes ....

best is buy short throw projector and a good soundbar with woofer and project on wall .... cheap and best .....and you can move these as will .... upstairs, basement etc ...

show off aithe totally waste of money....but interest unte danni ROI kindha lekkapettalemu. Manam thine food, thirige places etc etc ki ROI emuntadi bro...life lo annitiki ROI point lo calculate chesukunte, nuvvu DB lo enni hrs spend chesthunnav weekly / monthly / yearly, and what was your ROI? ala cheppalemu kada.

But I do agree, peer pressure/show off tho media room, expensive cars, big houses etc etc anni waste....buy these only if you are really interested and cherish every single moment of it.

adi kaadu bro ... if you just watch 4-5 movies in a year in theaters and which is a different experience and then watch movies and shows on 75 inch TV at home (best investment short throw projector oka $2500 and soundbar oka 200-300) then you are good ....

home theater is white elephant for me ... currently ... just naa experience

show off, very few ppl have genuine interest and the will to watch and enjoy home theaters, its mostly an impulse and show off decision, not rational at all
