that conflict has many angles...i am not discouraging any one...to take sides on this...

but how much we know about this issue..and if we are taking any side what is our cognitive bias to support...ane vishayam telusukundam ani adiga...

Simple bro. 2000 years ago a bunch of white europeans (romans) killed a jew called jesus by nailing him to a cross. But they blamed the death on jews (judas). Ever since then every european tribe was killing jews from russia in east to britain in west. It reached horrific proportions in second world war.

After the war is over - the europeans feeling a little guilty about jews but not wanting to give them any european land encouraged the idea of israel - by taking lands of palestenians and using biblical stories to get support from jews.

Then jews - who were really europeans with full access to european warfare technology - brutally occupied and cleared lands of palestines starting this cycle of violence.

For some reason, our people have a fascination towards Israelis and hate towards palestines… very few ppl know the history of this region…

it is probably bcoz Israel supported and supplied ammunition to India during the Bangladesh war and other wars and Pakistan supports Palestine (part of Muslim world)… India also have considerable Jewish people.. many ppl were not aware of their presence until the 26/11 Mumbai attacks..

antha scene ledhu. During 1971 india was in soviet camp - it was soviets who helped india then. israel was always in us camp.

after the ww2...and nazi atrocities...this state got formed...

but actually...why only israel for jewish...?

first lets talk about as per mythology..

according to Hebrew Bible (Tanakh) god..promised that land to abraham and his descendants..

Abraham descendants are isaac (first wife sone) and ishmael (second wife son)....

isaac decedents lo jesus christ puttii christinaity...and ishmael decedents lo mohammad putti...islam...staphinchaaru...

so as per the initial tanakh...both descendants have same equal right on that land...

second lets talk about as per political and historical...

this state got formed as settlement after the nazi atrocities...you can see in the first picture in first post by @JackSeal...

this land was ruled by assyrians, Babylonians, greeks, romans, ottoman, British..etc where was the jewish state during that...time..?

my point is...we (as indians)..if we are taking sides...on what basis we are supporting israel or palsetine..? what is our cognitive bias to support here...so question your cognitive bias...?

liking chocolate or vanilla is personal preference …

if you say chocolate ice cream is always better than vanilla and you debate on that…is like “egocentric bias” or “false consensus effect”…

google those words…

No need of googling the words, the meaning is evident

It's egocentric bias, which is also the opinion of the TS who comes with his own bias. These biases are not going to go change after a debate. A debate means putting multiple opinions on the table to see who wins, not who changes.

Right and wrong personally are subjective to a personal opinion based on their experiences, and if topics should come to consensus there are methods for that. One way in society is fair voting, sometimes it goes to panchayat or court where someone else decides. But doesn't mean the side need to change.

1947 mundhu story vunte veyandi

The Romans had given Palestine its name when they conquered it from the Jews nearly 2,000 years earlier. After the Romans were thrown out Palestine was part of one Arab or other Moslem empire after another since the 7th century. Finally, in the 400 years before it became available in 1922, Palestine had been a small part of the Turkish Ottoman Empire. But in World War I the British and French defeated Germany and the Ottoman Empire and stripped them of their colonies.

In 634–641 CE, the region, including Jerusalem, was conquered by the Arabs who had just recently adopted Islam. It remained under Muslim control for the next 1,300 years under various dynasties.Control of the region transferred between the Rashidun Caliphs, Umayyads, Abbasids, Fatimids, Seljuks, Crusaders, and Ayyubids throughout the next six centuries, before the area was conquered in 1260 by the Mamluk Sultanate.

The Arab countries insisted that since it had been ruled by Moslems for more than a millennium, and since its small population of less than a million inhabitants were mostly Arabs, Palestine should become part of an Arab country, presumably Syria. The British government, following the policy it had announced 5 years earlier in the Balfour Declaration, urged that Palestine be set aside as the site for a homeland for the Jewish people. They argued that Jewish kingdoms had ruled various parts of Palestine for over a thousand years and that the land and especially Jerusalem the ancient Jewish capital were central to the Jewish religion. Furthermore they pointed out that the Jewish people had been praying to return to the land for nearly 2,000 years, and that throughout those millennia there were always Jews living in the land and returning to the land.

Some years later when Britain was defending itself against the onslaught of Hitler’s Germany it felt that it needed help from the Arab countries. Therefore despite the Jews need for a place to go to escape from murder by the Germans, and despite the British responsibility under the Mandate to use Palestine as a homeland for the Jews, Britain yielded to Arab pressure and refused to allow Jews to escape to Palestine, and as a result hundreds of thousands of Jews who could have been saved were killed by the Germans.

The Third (1919–23) and Fourth Aliyahs (1924–29) brought an additional 100,000 Jews to Palestine. Finally, the rise of Nazism and the increasing persecution of Jews in 1930s Europe led to the Fifth Aliyah, with an influx of a quarter of a million Jews. This was a major cause of the Arab revolt of 1936–39 during which the British Mandate authorities alongside the Zionist militias of Haganah and Irgun killed 5,032 Arabs..Consequently, the population of Israel rose from 800,000 to two million between 1948 and 1958. Between 1948 and 1970, approximately 1,150,000 Jewish refugees relocated to Israel.

In 1945 after the end of World War II great pressure was put on Britain to allow the Jewish survivors of the holocaust to come to Palestine, but because of their political interests the British continued to obey the Arab demand to exclude the Jews despite the provisions of the Mandate. The Palestinian Jews began a guerrilla war against the British government and by 1947 the British decided that they would give up their Mandate and go home
