papam SRH and RR chala hopes tho retain chesaru...warner and smith miss ayite matram atu manchi players miss avutaru and purse kuda bokka unless they release them....

If they aren't available they can ask for replacments.. SRH has  to keep options open by getting a better opener like Jason Roy in auction.

Ee saari auction koncham sub dued gaane untadi ODI regulars in overseas teams ki peddaga demand undakapovachu due to availability reasons..

CSK will be surely subdued since there is only 2 Indian players spots open.

MI will surely go big for one foreign player slot open and fill others with local players with purse of around 11 cr in hand.

KXIP, DD & RR, RCB will be bit more active in auction... KKR, SRH will come in between.

ya hopefully the teams make enough research and buy  players like WI batsmen hetmyer who will have an immense impact on the games.KKR made mistakes with their foreign players last year and had no backup when starc opted out. They bought Mitchell Johnson, Tom Curran, Cameron Delport, Javon Searles. Now they release d them.Hope they buy someone decent this year.

Completely agree with u..even SRH comes planned with moody and all the brains....KXIP  and DD have the worst planning in every auction.RCB have the worst assessment of the players every year and buy them for high prices...

IPL 2019: I too would have dropped Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh as an owner, says former chief selector

Indian Premier League 2019: Former Indian chief selector Sandip Patil has explained why IPL teams releasing Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh didn't come as a surprise to him.

Delhi Daredevils made a tough call ahead of the IPL 2019 player auctions as they decided to release veteran batsman Gautam Gambhir. While the move disappointed a lot of DD fans, it didn't came as a surprise for many who consider Gambhir is way past his prime now and it was about time that he was let go off. Another big Indian name which failed to get retained was of Yuvraj Singh who was released by Kings XI Punjab.

Yuvraj was roped back in by his former franchise Kings XI last season. The all-rounder had an ordinary campaign in IPL 2018 and failed to deliver with both the bat and the ball and it was clearly visible that age was getting better of the prolific all-rounder who had played an instrumental role in India's 2011 World Cup triumph under MS Dhoni.

While it will be interesting to see if both Yuvraj and Gambhir are picked up by a franchise in the upcoming auctions, former Indian chief selector Sandeep Patil has reckoned he was not surprised to see the two veterans being left out and said he too would have dropped them as a franchise owner while predicting that sun is about to set on the two greats of Indian cricket.

It was sad to read about Indian stars being left out by their respective IPL franchises, but to be honest, I am not at all surprised," Patil wrote in his column for the Quint.

"Yuvraj and Gautam have been my favorite players and remain my favourite, but as a franchise owner, if I have to take a call on them being part of my team, I would also have dropped them," he added.

"It is not a happy moment or a good feeling when you drop a player. Nobody in life wants to lose; no board, franchisee, player, captain wants to fail. Players get picked for a particular slot and a lot of thought goes behind picking him," he added explaining how the franchises mean business and would happily leave out anyone who is underperforming or not living up to the expectations.

Gambhir led Kolkata Knight Riders to two titles as a captain and headed back to Delhi Daredevils - his home franchise, expecting to replicate his success with the Delhi-based franchise but found himself out of the playing XI soon after relinquishing captaincy for Shreyas Iyer. He could manage only six games under his belt scoring just 85 runs.

"Gambhir led KKR respectfully and won two IPL titles for them. But age is something which not only catches up with players, but also slows down the player, affecting their performance. I don’t have to name the players, but it has happened to cricketers in the past and will continue to happen in the future as well," Patil wrote explaining why he felt it was right on Delhi Daredevils' part to let go of Gambhir.

Meanwhile, Yuvraj who was the most expensive buy in the IPL 2015, has seen a massive downfall in his demand as he goes into the auction with an uncertainty hovering over his future in the league. The left-hand all-rounder played eight games for KXIP last season and managed to score only 65 runs in what was a dismal season for him.

"Three years back, Yuvraj Singh was the highest paid IPL cricketer and everybody was only too happy to have him in their team. I also remember when Irfan Pathan got a big payday. Not just these players, there have been countless others. In fact, it used to be the talk of the town - whether these players really deserve these kind of hefty fees or not," Patil wrote explaining how every player has to face the axe one day.

Both 2011 World Cup heroes are not in the fray for a comeback in the Indian team considering their ordinary form and fitness and the growing competition. However, they are yet to call it quits from professional cricket. Patil said the sun is about to set on the two greats as only the fittest survive in the sport.

"The sun is now about to set on these two greats, not only of the Indian cricket, but also World cricket. Yuvraj and Gambhir have to, however, take a call regarding their future. Both of them have given immense pleasure to the country by performing at the highest level, but it is a survival of the fittest," Patil wrote.

IPL 2019 auctions to be held in Jaipur on December 18: Report

IPL 2019 will enter into its 12th season next year. With the IPL retentions held earlier this month, the auctions will surely bring in a few surprises as well.

Indian Premier League will enter into its 12th season next year and the auctions for the same will be held on December 18 in Jaipur. If latest reports are to be believed, the auctions will be held between 3 PM and 9:30 PM. The various IPL franchises have already named their retentions and releases earlier this month in November. The franchises took some tough decisions as they left out some big names who will be up for auctions once again for the next edition. The next auction is sure to spring in some surprises with some of the biggest names being released by their former teams.

The auction will be a one-day affair with a change in the timings as well according to a Mumbai Mirror report. The Mirror report further stated that the change in time has been made keeping in mind the prime-time slot (7-10 pm). The change in time has been made to attract the maximum number of viewers for the auction.

With the national elections to be held in the country next year, the dates of  IPL 12 are yet to be finalized. There are also rumours that the IPL may be held outside India with South Africa most likely to be selected as the venue.

“If the dates of the general elections clash with those of the Indian Premier League, then the tournament will be held outside the country. But as of now, we are waiting for the dates to decide on how to go ahead with the scheduling,” IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla told the media circles back in September.

Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals made a return to the league after being banned for two years for their involvement in the match-fixing scandal. While Rajasthan lost out to Kolkata Knight Riders in the Eliminator, Chennai Super Kings under MS Dhoni went onto win the title for the third time.

Rajasthan Royals have signed fast bowling coach Steffan Jones ahead of the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League. Jones, known for his expertise with data and sports science, has had stints with Derbyshire, Somerset and Hobart Hurricanes as well last year in the Big Bash League, earning praise from the likes of Stuart Broad.

"Jones thinks differently, and that is what we love at the Royals," Royals' Head of Cricket, Zubin Bharucha said. "His research into other sports is extremely interesting and his data and sports science focus meant he was a perfect fit for RR. Steffan brings in a fresh perspective to the art of fast bowling and we are excited to have him at Rajasthan Royals."

Prior to coaching, Jones had played first-class cricket for 14 years, representing Somerset, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire and Kent. He had picked up 387 wickets from 148 games in the longer format and 256 wickets from 191 matches in one-day cricket. The 44-year-old is currently director of Sports Performance and Wellbeing at Wellington School in Somerset.

"It is a privilege for me to get this role and work with one of the best T20 teams in the world," Jones said following his appointment. "Rajasthan Royals have a great culture of unearthing new talent and developing its cricketers which I am excited to be a part of. I am really looking forward to this opportunity to work with an extremely talented group of fast bowlers."
