In your dreams..

I said in gdp per capita ... because vizag will never reach the size of Hyd. Hyd gdp per cap is not that great. Not like delhi.

At this point Vizag doesn't even have a remote chance of beating HYD in the next 30 years period! Even if it comes close to Hyd after 30 years why would anyone living in Kurnool pick Vizag against HYD? Both are telugu speaking cities and most people in AP are more familiar with HYD dialect and food compared to vizag.. They can always pick something closer.

If Hyderabad and vizag has same sectors then sure Hyderabad will be first choice

But what if those type of jobs are not available in Hyderabad ? Example ports and exports, minerals , fisheries .

As I said before vizag is still top 10 Indian city economy with completely different type of economy sectors compared to Hyderabad.

u guys are so sure that a port city of a rich state (AP is rich) cannot beat an inland city in 30yrs..

how can u be so sure?

ofcourse it all depends on vizag people, and the kind of people it will attract in the future.

dudes, vizag is not a competition for Hyd. Vizag is its own city.

if u insist on comparing, then u have to realize Hyd is overrated too.

Correct. Neither is Vizag equivalent to Hyderabad, not should it aspire to be. It should become the best it can given per its strengths or weaknesses.

Leave the babori failed mentality of competing with Hyderabad IT sector . That generation boom is over. Focus on your strengths.

The thing is that there is no reason for people from a majority of the districts of AP to move to Vizag or have any business with Vizag. It's a wrong step of making it a capital when it's inaccessible for majority of the people in AP..

its fine. AP people have 4 different options to chose from. net win for AP people. especially for those in the north who were neglected for so long. I'm happy for srikakulam, ijjinagaram folks.

No reason ? So people will sit idle in their homes rather than going to vizag if those types of jobs are only available there ?

Why do so many IT North people move to blore and Hyderabad ? Because those jobs only exist there.

The future is still in Tech and Hyd is well positioned to take advantage of it. Compare Bay Area to port and mining cities in Louisiana and you will see the difference. The max these industries will add is low income jobs.

Vizag steel plant and other organizations set up by Central Govt contribute most of the employment and growth of Vizag.

Vizag almost has stagnant growth as far as Central Govt institutions go.

I am not sure how moving the capital to Vizag is going to help the city grow or help the state.

Amaravathi ni as it is unchesi, may be Guntur, Amaravathi, Vijayawada combined would have given the much needed boost to AP as we have some industrial presence in Ananthapur with Kia Motors, and Chittor with Sri City and the obvious vizag , steel plant in Kadapa and various ports helping other districts like Muchilipatnam port, Krishnapatnam Port in Nellore, Ramayapatnam port...

It has been well positioned for a decade now. Its just positioning.

other than bangalore and delhi, no city in India is actually able to take advantage of that positioning.

u say Hyd will move up the ladder in the future.. if that happens, I will agree that Hyd is unbeatable. Not because it has fcuking google, whatsapp offices.

the future is ofcourse in tech. I'm not making the argument that Vizag will beat Hyd with its port activity. but tech itself is a huge market. Not just IT. social media, etc.
