India's recovery rate rises to 76,24%

With a total of 25,23,771 patients having recuperated so far, the recovery rate was recorded at 76.24 percent while the COVID-19 case fatality rate has declined to 1.83 percent.

There are 7,25,991 active cases of corona virus infection in the country which comprises 21.93 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.

With 78,761 cases, India registers highest one-day spike in the world

India's corona virus case tally crossed the 35-lakh mark on Sunday with a spike of 78,760 new cases in the past 24 hours. A total of 78,760 new cases in a day is the highest single-day spike in the world. Corona virus case tally in India now stands at 35,42,733, according to the health ministry.

India broke its own record of highest corona virus cases reported in 24 hours for the third consecutive day. This is also the highest one-day spike in the world.

At the same time, the number of recoveries surged to 27,13,933 , pushing the recovery rate to 76.47 per cent, according to the data. Meanwhile, 948 people died due to corona virus in the last 24 hours, pushing death toll to 63,498.

India has so far tested over 4 crore corona virus samples, says ICMR

The total number of samples tested in India up to August 29 is 4,14,61,636 including 10,55,027 samples tested on Saturday, says Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
