India's COVID-19 recovery rate rises to 74.9%

India's COVID-19 tally sprinted past the 30-lakh mark, just 16 days after it crossed 20 lakh, while 22,80,566 people have recuperated in the country so far pushing the recovery rate to 74.90 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

With a single-day spike of 69,239 infections, the country's COVID-19 caseload mounted to 30,44,940, while the death toll climbed to 56,706 with 912 fatalities being reported in a span of 24-hours, the data updated at 8 am showed.The COVID-19 case fatality rate has declined to 1.86 percent.

There are 7,07,668 active cases of corona virus infection in the country which comprises 23.24 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.

COVID-19 cases reappear at Singapore's largest dormitory

Around 4,800 workers have been issued a stay-home notice at Singapore's largest foreign workers' dormitory after fresh corona virus emerged there, reports PTI.

The Sungei Tengah Lodge dormitory was among the largest COVID-19 clusters in Singapore with over 2,200 confirmed cases before it was declared cleared of the disease by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) last month.

On Sunday, 58 fresh corona virus cases were confirmed in the dormitory, a day after a new COVID-19 cluster emerged there.

India's COVID-19 recovery rate at 75%

A single-day spike of 61,408 COVID-19 cases took India''s virus caseload past the 31-lakh mark on Monday, a day after it crossed 30 lakh, while recoveries surged to 23,38,035 pushing the recovery rate to over 75 percent, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

India''s COVID-19 caseload mounted to 31,06,348, while the death toll climbed to 57,542 with 836 fatalities being reported in a span of 24-hours, the data updated at 8 am showed.

The COVID-19 case fatality rate has declined to 1.85 per cent, while the recovery rate has risen to 75.27 per cent.

India reports over 60,000 new cases, takes total to 31.6 lakh

India’s corona virus total on Tuesday went up to 31,67,323 cases with 60,975 new infections in 24 hours. The country’s toll rises by 848 to 58,390. There are 7,04,348 active cases, and 24,04,585 patients have recovered so far.

With 60,975 people testing positive for corona virus infection in a day, India's COVID-19 tally rose to 31,67,323, while recoveries surged to 24,04,585 pushing the recovery rate over 75.92 percent, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

The toll climbed to 58,390 with 848 fatalities being reported in a span of 24-hours, the data updated at 8 am showed.

The COVID-19 case fatality rate has declined to 1.84 percent. There are 7,04,348 active cases of corona virus infection in the country which comprises 22.24 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.

Gujarat HC says state’s situation ‘very frightening’, orders inspection of hospitals

Observing that the COVID-19 situation in Gujarat is "quite frightening," the state High Court in Ahmedabad has directed the Chief Secretary to constitute a committee of five senior IAS officers to prepare a report on the condition prevailing at all civil and government hospitals where corona virus patients are being treated.

A division bench of Chief Justice Vikram Nath and Justice J B Pardiwala said, in an order made available on Monday, that the panel shall prepare a comprehensive report regarding the condition prevailing in all government/civil hospitals after minutely looking at the deficiencies, if any, so that they (shortcomings) can be "cured and taken care of".
