Dharavi reports 13 new cases

 
13 fresh cases were recorded in Dharavi area of Mumbai today, taking the total number of cases to 1,912. No new death was reported in the slum area today and the toll stands at 71, ANI quotes the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation as saying.
 

Maharashtra reports 3,007 new cases, 91 deaths

Maharashtra, the worst-affected state, continued to report a spurt in cases with over 3,000 new infections and 91 deaths recorded on Sunday. Mumbai accounts for 48,774 of the total 85,975 cases. However, 1,924 patients were discharged following their recovery, pushing the total number of those discharged to over 39,000, according to a bulletin issued by the state health department.

Gujarat sees spike in cases as 480 more test positive, 30 succumb to COVID-19

480 fresh cases and 30 deaths were reported in Gujarat in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 20,097 and toll to 1,249. Gujarat has now 5,205 active cases, ANI quotes the state health department as saying.

Telangana reports 14 deaths

Telangana on Sunday reported 14 deaths, pushing the COVID-19 toll to 137. The state also recorded 154 new patients, of which 132 were from Hyderabad and the number of confirmed cases rose to 3,650

Uttar Pradesh reports 433 new cases, seven deaths

433 more COVID-19 cases and seven deaths were reported in Uttar Pradesh today. Total number of cases in the state now is at 10,536, including 6,185 discharged, 4,076 active cases and 275 deaths, ANI quotes the State Health Department as saying.

Haryana reports four deaths, highest single-day jump of 496 cases

 Haryana on Sunday reported four COVID-19 deaths -- three of them from worst-hit Faridabad district -- as the state recorded its highest single-day jump in cases at 496, of which 230 were from Gurgaon alone. With three more deaths, Faridabad district has reported a total of 13 COVID fatalities. One death was reported from Panipat, taking the total number of fatalities in the district to four, according to the state health department's evening bulletin.   Haryana now has a total of 28 coronavirus deaths.  With fresh infections, cumulative cases in the state rose to 4,448. Worst-hit Gurgaon district's cumulative coronavirus cases on Sunday evening stood at 1,922, of which 1,467 were active ones.

COVID-19 case count in Delhi nears 29,000

 
1282 more cases were reported in Delhi in the last 24 hours. Total number of cases in the National Capital is now at 28,936, including 17,125 active cases, 10,999 recovered/discharged/migrated and 812 deaths, ANI quotes the Delhi Health Department as saying.

India reports 9,983 new cases, takes total to over 2.5 lakh

India’s total rises to 2,56,611 on Monday morning after 9,983 new cases and 206 deaths were reported in 24 hours. This is the highest single-day rise yet. The toll now stands at 7,135, an increase of 206 deaths.

As many as 1,24,095 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far with 1,25,381 active cases.

Maharashtra, Tamil remain worst hit

With 85,975 confirmed cases of COVID-19 so far, Maharashtra remains worst-affected state in the country, followed by Tamil Nadu (31,667) and Delhi (27,654).

ICMR says over 47 lakh samples tested for COVID-19 till 9 am today

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said that 47,74,434 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the country till 9.00 am today. Of these, 1,08,048 were tested in the last 24 hours.

Andhra reports 125 new cases, takes total to 3,843

In Andhra Pradesh, 125 new corona virus cases were reported in last 24 hours. So far, 14,246 samples were tested. There are total 3,843 Covid-19 cases, while 2,387 discharged. So far, 75 deaths were reported, while there are 1381 active cases.

Puducherry reports 9 new cases, total in UT now at 75

Nine new active cases of COVID-19 were reported in Union Territory on Monday, raising the total to 75.

Director of Health and Family Services S Mohan Kumar, in a press release, said of the nine, six are in the Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital, two in the Centrally administered JIPMER and one in the Government General Hospital in Mahe, an enclave of Puducherry in Kerala.

The patient in Mahe had returned from Saudi Arabia and been put in home quarantine for some days. He tested positive for the pandemic during an examination. The cumulative COVID-19 cases in the Union Territory now stood at 127 with four discharges.

Nepal reports 314 new cases, 1 death in last 24 hours

The Nepal health ministry said that 314 more COVID-19 cases and one death were reported in the country in the last 24 hours. Total number of cases in the country is now at 3762, including 488 recovered and 14 deaths.

91 new COVID-19 cases in Kerala today

Kerala reported 91 new cases of corona virus on Monday, of which 73 patients arrived in the state from abroad, India Today reported.
 

"-91 new Covid-19 cases
-73 from abroad
-15 from other states
-2 health workers and 1 primary contact
-1 death in the last 24 hours," the report said.

Dharavi, Worli show signs of flattening COVID-19 curve: Report

Two Mumbai localities with dense population — Dharavi and Worli — which emerged as major corona virus hotspots in the city, on Monday saw a drop in their daily tally. Dharavi, which is one of the largest slums in Asia, reported nearly 1,400 COVID-19 cases in May, or a whopping jump of about 380 percent from the April figures, adding to concerns of its residents, reports News18.

The rate of infection in Worli, which reached an average of 60-62 in May, has now come down to 35 to 40. According to a report in Hindustan Times, average new cases in Dharavi have come down from 47 in May to 27 in June. The growth rates of Worli and Dharavi has come down to 1.9% and 1.7%, respectively, which are among the lowest in the city.
