India reports over 19,000 cases, 434 deaths in past 24 hours

The number of corona virus cases in India on Thursday, crossed 6 lakh as India reports 19,148 cases in the past 24 hours. India now has 6,04,641 cases and 17,834 deaths. The toll has increased by 434.

As many as 3,59,859 people have recovered from the corona virus so far in India. There are 2,26,947 active cases.

Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu remain worst-hit

With 1,80,298 confirmed cases of COVID-19 so far, Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state in the country, followed by Tamil Nadu (94,049) and Delhi (89,802).

Over 90 lakh samples tested so far, says ICMR

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said that 90,56,173 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the country till yesterday (1 July). Of these, 2,29,588 were tested yesterday.

Global COVID-19 cases now at 1.06 crore

Total confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the world stand at 1.06 crore, according to the Johns Hopkins University CSSE. This figure includes COVID-19 patients who have recovered and the overall global death toll which stands at 5.14 lakh.

With over 26.5 lakh reported cases till date, the United States is the worst-affected country in the world. The US is followed by Brazil, Russia, India and the United Kingdom.

US records over 52,000 new cases in past 24 hours

The United States has seen record 52,000 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, according to the Johns Hopkins University CSSE’s tracker.

 

US buys nearly full stock of COVID-19 drug remdesivir

The US has secured nearly the entire world stock of antiviral drug remdesivir from US-based Gilead Sciences for the next three months, leaving hardly any stock of the key COVID-19 drug for the rest of the world.

As a result of an agreement with the drugmaker announced earlier this week, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has secured more than 500,000 treatment courses of the drug for American hospitals through September.

India's recovery rate now at 59.5%

India’s COVID-19 recovery rate now stands at 59.5 percent. As many as 3,59,859 people have recovered from the corona virus so far in India. There are 2,26,947 active cases.

Andhra reports 845 new cases, 5 deaths in past 24 hours

845 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total confirmed cases in Andhra Pradesh to 16,097. Of these, 8,586 cases are active. The toll stands at 198, reports ANI.

India records 20,903 new cases and 379 deaths, health ministry 

India registered over 6.25 lakh COVID-19 infections on Friday after 20,903 new cases were reported for the first time in single day. With 379 more fatalities, the COVID-19 toll across the nation stood at 18,213.

2,27,439 active corona virus cases in India

There are 2,27,439 active cases of the total 6,25,544 COVID-19 infections across the nation, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. 

India's COVID-19 recovery rate 60.73%

Of the total 6,25,544 corona virus cases, as many as 3,79,892 patients have been cured of the viral disease as on Friday, taking the COVID-19 recovery rate to 60.73 percent. 

Over 18,000 succumb to COVID-19 across India

With the death of 359 more people after contracting the novel corona virus, the COVID-19 toll in India rose to 18,213 on Friday. This takes the mortality rate to 2.91 percent.  

 

Nearly 93 lakh COVID-19 samples tested: ICMR

Over 92 lakh COVID-19 samples have been tested so far, said the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), adding that of the total 2,41,576 samples were tested on Thursday alone.

Global COVID-19 toll at 5.20 lakh 

The global tally of corona virus cases stood at 10,836,500 with as many as 5,20,634 people succumbing to the viral infection, according to the John Hopkins University tracker on Friday.

Around 11,300 ventilators, 1.02 lakh oxygen cylinders dispatched across India: health minister 

At least 11,300 'Make In India' ventilators have been dispatched so far under Centre's 'Atma Nirbhar Bharat' mission, said the Union health minister on Saturday.

Of the total ventilators, 6,154 have been delivered to hospitals. Ministry of Health is also supplying 1.02 lakh oxygen cylinders across India; 72,293 have been delivered, said Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan.

1,658 new positive cases in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area

Out of the 1,892 fresh cases in Telangana, 1,658 were reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area, the epicentre of the virus spread in the state, followed by Ranga Reddy district and neighboring Hyderabad, with 56 cases.

US records over 57,000 corona virus cases in single day, says report

The United States recorded 57,683 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, according to the Johns Hopkins University. This was the third consecutive day with record numbers of new infections.

Maharashtra crosses one lakh recoveries

On Friday, 3,515 corona virus patients in Maharashtra were discharged from hospitals. The number of recovered patients in the state, thus, climbed to 1,04,687.

The state has crossed one million mark in COVID-19 testing as 10,49,277 people have been tested in the state so far.
