1) first take a paper trading account  , Practice stocks with your analysis and research. See how you are doing , what is your mistakes and strengths. 

2) invest in S&P index , Some good ETF's for now.  Market will correct sometime this year. Wait for the day when market corrects decent %  then invest in good stocks like Disney , Target ,  Apple , CELH ....etc

people are expecting sometime in September..   Most of my option calls will expire on Aug20th.  So i will move to 50 to 60% cash by mid august.  

Please remember good stocks will do great irrespective of dips ...  for example recent times   SE , NET , LSPD are fantastic. 

bought SE at $80 and sold at $180 .. then again at $200 sold at $240 .. it is at $290.  i would have never sold it.

 

Bought NET at $55 and sold at $90 ...  it is at $120.   

bought LSPD at $49 and sold at $83 .. it is at $91.. 

So moral of the story :   Good business stocks keep climbing irrespective of market ...
