what about resultant riots? gulbarg massacre had around 24 convictions, naroda patiya massacre had about 30 convictions, with the most high profile conviction of Maya Kodnani being reversed. And the court dismissing any mention of how the riots were orchestrated and were not a spontaneous reaction of the larger population. Basically everyone was blaming the VHP, Bajrang Dal for the violence and not the Hindus.

and the genocide led to the rise of Modi. that he wasn't convicted for conspiracy nor did he renounce his seat out of shame for allowing the genocide to happen. Those who were partly responsible for rising sentiment against Pandits (for eg. JKLF) openly expressed their apology for it - including Yasin Malik, even though he was not directly responsible for the exodus, like Modi was responsible for the genocide against muslims.
