Middle East already transitioning to other income sources like tourism, IT and other sectors except few countries.

The moment governments start taxing and ask people to start working and pay income taxes and other taxes, things will start to go wrong. They are autocratic nations mostly and it’s because of their oil wealth that they are being provided security. Once the oil wealth subsides, they will start facing problems what Libya, Iran , Egypt did couple of decades back.

Middle East countries have already transitioned to other alternative sources of energy and have lots of money to invest in alternative energy sectors. So don't assume they will be herding camels after 20 years, in your dreams. 

Regarding the issue, its' clear there's a politically driven agenda here. Maybe due to India's increasing dependence on Russian oil sources, which doesn't bode too well for the middle east oil suppliers.
