man ivanni from pocket pay chesa... and nenu 350 paying already.. this country sucks man..

 

every year i am paying more than 5000$ insurance for health.. after savings i earn 45 k.. in hand..

insurance bills vachhetappatiki 4-5 months padutundi annav kada.. at least I can pay them slowly..

 

oka 24 hrs flight journey ni jagrathhaga mangage chesi 1-2 months lo malli US ki vaddaamani thinking.. naku VISA issues kuda emi levu..

leg fractured and surgery needed as 3 bones broken and 2 ligaments torn at ankle & foot..

 

911 came and took to emergency, it's a 20 min ride in ambulance

 

later went to orthopedic the next day and heard surgery is needed.

 

so anybody have any idea on how much it costs for the emergency care and then for the ankle & foot surgery?

 

is it better to go to India and get the surgery done staying with parents or be here only and have the medical observation all the time?

 

suggestions & advises are welcome..

surgery antey, you must stay in Hosipital for at least couple of days, that would cost a lot (Hospital statys are unbelievably expenssive here)

 

Cigna and based on what you pay, it seems like you may need to pay around 20% coinsurance (out of pocket), and remaining 80% insurance....but better check once

 

 

1. Call your insurance ASAP and check whats your coinsurance %, Deductible, Ambulance exp covereage (if any)

 

2. Check with doctor as to how many days you would need to be in Hospital, a general estimate...

 

If Hospital stay is more than 3 days and if your coinsurance is 20% or more, and if you are physically able to travel, then its worth going to India.

you are pretty much screwed if you went to ER room and dont have good insurance plan. During ER many non-contracted doctors will treat you and you have to pay the money wholesome. If there is time for surgeries, go to India and get them done, unless you have good insurance with low deductible and low out of pocke max. Good luck
