Telugu is already second most spoken in India,

It will grow, if there is demand,

No one forced English, it grew organically because of demand.

btw, English is one of the worst languages in terms of structure. Yet it is popular because of demand.

Similar with any language.

Second is Bengali then comes Telugu...

It is not about resistance towards Hindi. I can read, write & speak Hindi like a local. Learning Hindi was a necessity for me during childhood having grown up in Hindi-speaking state for a few years during my childhood. I've seen my Telugu friends outside Hyderabad (Andhra region to be precise) struggle to pick up the language. They couldn't get the slang right. The simplest of grammar rules somehow confused them big time. Although, hatred towards Hindi is non-existent in the Andhra region, they share the same difficulties faced by Tamilians, Kannadigas and Malayalees. A lot of them tried hard to master it, a few even took those exams organized by Hindi Prachar Sabha. Students hampered their 10th percentage finding it difficult. The northies on the other hand study only 5 subjects. Learning Hindi will only make it easy for chapathis to live anywhere without respecting the local culture. Whereas, a South Indian who tries hard to speak Hindi is ridiculed everywhere for his slang -- movies joke about it, children are bullied. There is no reason for a Telugu guy from Vizag who will eventually settle in Bengaluru or fly to the US to learn Hindi.

I think it is dangerous to make Hindi national language ..I have see many north people use to take special English classes instead of telugu..I think your interaction is less with north is less...

i was asked by many north people.. why you are dark...and don’t speak Hindi.. those guys don’t learn any regional language....
