but the worker rep specifically said that hires cost them 600crs. he prefers to buy new fleet, which can be maintained by RTC with their staff.

anyway man.. there are no victors in this tussle.

 even if you were slightly right in claiming that for more efficiency, RTC has to outsource ancillary functions, you calmly avoid addressing the issue that this RTC service is a public service, run for public benefit. and runs in a loss because state govt prevents it from running like a real corporation.

privatizing is not going to decrease the cost of this operation. as it has never happened anywhere in the world. even the claim of efficiency is  dubious.

the main reason is probably, KCR wants to slowly lose 50k workers. just like govts world over, they are trying to kick people off govt or quasi govt service. there cant be any other rationale for this.
