I was also in the same boat with 9k due.

1st requested.

2nd Asked strongly.

3rd stage - warned about the consequences....then Gave back all the money. (offcourse with a 3 months delay)

tell him some cooked up story like Emergency,expenses in India, family assistance, EMIs in India or planing to buy  house  need money etc ......ask for 20K around(more than your balance) then negotiate for 10K or 15 K
