Haryana reports 12 more cases, taking state total to 1,005

With 12 more people testing positive for COVID-19, the total number of confirmed cases in Haryana rose to 1,005 on Thursday.

Over 60 percent of the 1,005 cases have been reported from the four worst-hit districts — Gurgaon, Faridabad, Sonipat and Jhajjar. Fourteen COVID-19 deaths have been reported in the state so far.

India's COVID-19 recovery rate at 40.97%

Of the total 1,18,447 confirmed cases, there are 66,330 active cases across the nation, according to the latest figures by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. 

India's COVID-19 recovery rate stood at 40.97 percent after 48,533 patients were cured of the infectious disease.

India registers 1.18 lakh confirmed cases with over 3,500 deaths 

India saw an increase of of corona virus cases by 6,088 number of infections in the past 24 hours. With this, the total confirmed cases across the nation climbed to 1,18,447 on Friday.

While, 140 more COVID-19 patients succumbed to the infectious disease in the past 24 hours bringing the toll to 3,583.

39 new COVID-19 cases reported in China

"China has reported 39 new corona virus cases, including 35 asymptomatic infections from the first COVID-19 epicentre in Wuhan which is currently testing all of its 11.2 million population to prevent a second wave of infection. China’s National Health Commission (NHC) said on Friday that out of the thirty-nine infections reported on Thursday, 35 were asymptomatic cases," India Today reported.

Centre expands use of HCQ for asymptomatic healthcare workers

Centre on Friday revised the advisory on the use of Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) as prophylactic for COVID-19 infection. Govt has now expanded it to asymptomatic healthcare and frontline workers deployed in non-COVID and COVID areas.

Gujarat reports 363 new COVID-19 cases today

The Gujarat health department said that in last 24 hours, 363 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the state, taking the state's tally to 13,273 cases, including 5,880 cured/discharged and 802 deaths.

135 new COVID-19 cases reported in Bengal

The West Bengal health department said that 135 new COVID-19 confirmed cases, six deaths were reported on Friday, meanwhile 28 have been discharged.

The total cases confirmed in the state till 22 May is 3,322, including 1,249 discharged and 199 deaths.

Maharashtra records highest single-day jump in cases

The Maharashtra health department said that the state recorded its highest spike of corona virus cases on Friday, with 2,940 new patients recorded. The total number of positive cases in the state are  now 44,582.

Mumbai reports 1,751 new COVID-19 cases today

1,751 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Mumbai on Friday, "the highest single-day jump so far, pushing its tally above 27,000," India Today reported.

 

53 new COVID-19 cases reported in Dharavi today

The BMC said that 53 new corona virus cases were reported in Mumbai's Dharavi area on Friday. Total positive cases in Dharavi increase to 1,478 and 57 deaths.

100-yr-old COVID-19 patient welcomed after recovering from infection in Indore

A 100-year-old woman in Indore, Chanda Bai, was welcomed by her neighbours when she returned home yesterday after recovering from COVID-19 and being discharged from the hospital.

Rajasthan reports 267 new COVID-19 cases
