Maharashtra govt allows e-commerce for non-essential goods from today

Reports said that the Maharashtra government on Tuesday allowed the e-commerce of non-essential goods. Under the revised guidelines for the fourth phase of the lockdown, the state government also allowed the opening of stadia, sports complexes, public spaces in non-red zones. However, no spectators will be allowed at any event.'

 

Maharashtra govt allows shops, malls in red zones to open for maintenance 

The Maharashtra government on Tuesday said that shops, malls, establishments, and industries will be allowed to open in red zones, but "only for upkeep and maintenance". No commercial activities will be allowed.

Maharashtra govt allows public transport in green, orange zones

The Maharashtra government on Tuesday revised the lock down rules and allowed shops and public transport in green and orange zones in the state. The government also imposed a strict curfew from 7 pm to 7 am.

"No permission for taxis, rickshaws, cabs in red zones," the statement added.

 

Intra-district bus service allowed with 50% capacity in Maharashtra

The Maharashtra government allowed intra-district bus travel with a maximum of 50 percent capacity.

1. People can step out for essential activities, otherwise movement between 7 pm and 7 am is prohibited in Mumbai
2. The Maharashtra government will decide whether to allow inter and intra state travel
3. Travel of goods and cargo vehicles has been permitted.
4. Home delivery of liquor is allowed, however no liquor shops will be open in Mumbai as there is a chance of violation of social distancing norms. Liquor shops in the city were closed earlier this month by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

What's Not allowed, what's not in lockdown 4.0

  1. The suburban railway system, more popularly known as local trains, remain non-functional till May 31. Metro services are suspended
  2. Any kind of domestic or international air travel, except for security and medical reasons, will not be allowed
  3. Educational institutions would not be opened till phase 4 draws to an end. The MHA has encouraged the practice of distance learning
  4. Places of recreation like shopping malls, cinema halls, theatres, parks, gymnasiums, bars and swimming pools to remain shut in Mumbai.
  5. Restaurants and hotels can continue to deliver food to customers but no dining is allowed in their premises.
  6. Cab services such as Ola and Uber cannot operate in Mumbai as it is still a red zone.
  7. The containment zones will receive only essential services. No one is allowed to enter or exit these zones.
  8. Religious congregation will not be allowed and no place of worship will be opened.
  9. As Mumbai remains in the red zone, city police has made it clear that people traveling on the streets must produce permits for non-essential travel.

601 new COVID-19 cases reported in Tamil Nadu today

The Tamil Nadu health department said that 601 more corona virus cases and three deaths were reported in the state on Tuesday. The total number of cases in the state is now at 12,448, including 7,466 active cases and 84 deaths.

Centre says 'record number' of samples tested yesterday

The Union health ministry said that in terms of case mortality per lakh population, India has so far about 0.2 deaths per lakh population vis-a-vis approximately 4.1 deaths per lakh population for the world as a whole.

"A record number of 1,08,233 samples were tested yesterday in the country. So far a total of 24,25,742 samples have been tested," the statement added.

Madhya Pradesh records 229 new COVID-19 cases, 6 deaths today

Reports said that 229 new coronavirus cases were reported in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday, along with six new casualties. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 5,465, while active cases are 2,577.

The state-wide toll rose to 258, The Hindu reported,

Karnataka sees highest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases

India Today reported that Karnataka reported the highest single-day spike of 149 new coronavirus cases. The total number of cases rose to 1,395 in the state and the active cases are at 811.

The toll rose to 40 with three more deaths.

India records biggest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases with 5,611

India registered highest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases with 5,611 in the past 24 hours, according to the latest data released by Union Health Ministry on Wednesday. 

The COVID-19 toll climbed to 3,303 after 140 more patients succumbed to the viral infection as of Wednesday. 

61,149 active cases of total 1,06,750 infections across India

Of the total confirmed corona virus cases of 1,06,750 across the nation, there are 61,149 active cases till now, according to the latest data released by Union Health Ministry on Wednesday.

India's COVID-19 recovery rate at 39.62%

The COVID-19 recovery rate in India stood at 39.62 percent after 42,298 patients were cured of the novel corona virus as of Wednesday. "As many as 42,298 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far," the Union Health Ministry said in its latest update.

 

With 37,136 confirmed cases, Maharashtra remains worst-affected state 

Maharashtra continued to remain the worst COVID-affected state with 37,136 confirmed novel corona virus cases, according to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry. 

The state reported 1,325 COVID-19 deaths so far while, 9,639 patients have recovered taking the recovery rate to 26 percent. 

 

Apart from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat are worst COVID-affected states 

With 37,136 confirmed cases of COVID-19 so far, Maharashtra remained worst-affected state across the nation, followed by Tamil Nadu with 12,448 and Gujarat with 12,140 cases.

1,852 COVID-19 cases in Navi Mumbai 

Navi Mumbai registered a total of 1,852 confirmed COVID-19 cases while, 52 patients have succumbed to the novel corona virus so far, said Commissioner of Police, Navi Mumbai on Wednesday. 

The highest number of COVID-19 cases were recorded in Kopar Khairane with 294 cases and Nerul with 205.

Revised lock down guidelines in Maharashtra to kick in post 22 May 

The Maharashtra government on Tuesday retained most of the lock down curbs it had imposed in the previous phase, including ban on taxis and hair salons in red zones.

The revised guidelines for lock down 4.0 will be applicable post 22 May. Areas outside municipal corporation in Mumbai and Pune have been excluded from the red zone.

E-commerce activity for non-essential items allowed in red zones 

In the revised lock down guidelines in Maharashtra, there are restrictions imposed on malls and shops selling non-essentials however, e-commerce activity for essential and non-essential items is allowed.

Banking, courier and postal services are allowed to function in both orange and red zones. Barber shops, spas and saloons are not permitted to reopen in red zones while relaxation has been given for orange zones.

Maharashtra Police reports 1,388 confirmed cases, 12 deaths

The total number of COVID19 positive cases in Maharashtra Police is now 1388 including 948 active cases, 428 recovered and 12 deaths, reports ANI.
