India's Covid-19 tally crosses 15 lakh

Cases are rising faster in India than most other countries. On Tuesday, the country's total coronavirus case tally passed 15 lakh as cases continue to rise rapidly in rural areas. There has been a sharp fall in cases in urban cities like Mumbai and Delhi, but southern states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are now reporting a bulk of the cases. Two of India's poorest states -- Assam and Bihar -- also face increased threat from the virus due to the ongoing flood situation. Health authorities say the flood situation has made it tougher for affected people to follow social distancing rules and it could result in a higher number of cases.
