India reports 48,916 corona virus cases, 757 deaths in past 24 hrs

India registered 48,916 COVID-19 infections in a single day, taking the overall count to 13,36,861 on Saturday. The COVID-19 toll reached 31,358 after 757 more patients succumbed to the novel corona virus.

"Total COVID-19 positive cases stand at 13,36,861 including 4,56,071 active cases, 8,49,431 cured/discharged/migrated and 31,358 deaths," according to the health ministry.

India's COVID-19 recovery rate at 63.54%

India reported 8,49,431 recoveries as on Saturday, according to the latest data released by the health ministry. This takes the recovery rate nearly to 63.54 percent. 

The total number of cases registered is more than 13.36 lakh including 4,56,071 active cases.

China registers 34 fresh COVID-19 infections

China reported 34 cases of the new corona virus in the mainland for 24 July, up from 21 cases a day earlier, the health commission said on Saturday.

Of the new infections, 20 were in the far western region of Xinjiang, according to a statement by the National Health Commission. Nine were in the northeastern province of Liaoning, while the remaining five were imported cases.

India reports over 48,000 new cases, toll now at 32,063

India reports 48,661 new corona virus cases on Sunday, taking its overall tally to 13,85,522. The toll rises by 705 to 32,063. More than 8.85 lakh people have recovered.

Israel corona virus cases top 60,000 as infections jump

The number of people to test positive for corona virus in Israel topped 60,000 yesterday as the government struggles to contain a resurgence in infection rates. The latest daily tally showed 1,770 new infections, bringing the total number of cases to 60,496, the country's health ministry reported, according to Reuters.

ICMR tests over 1.62 crore samples so far

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a cumulative total of 1,62,91,331 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to 25 July with 4,42,263 samples being tested on Saturday.

Over 3,300 infected persons untraceable in Bengaluru: Report

As many as 3,338 people infected with the novel corona virus are untraceable in Bengaluru, reports NDTV. The number accounts for over 7 percent of the total number of cases in the city, which has seen a surge in infections over the last couple of weeks. A lock down had been imposed in the city from 15 to 22 July.

101-yr-old woman recovers from Covid-19 in Tirupati

A 101-year-old woman resident of Tirupati has recovered from Covid-19 and was discharged from State Covid-19 hospital Sri Padmavati women's hospital, Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati.

Global Covid-19 cases near 16mn: Johns Hopkins

The overall number of global coronavirus cases was nearing the 16 million mark, while the deaths have increased to over 643,000, according to the Johns Hopkins University.As of Sunday morning, the total number of cases stood at 15,984,384, while the fatalities rose to 643,384, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed in its latest update.

Mainland China reports 46 new corona virus cases, including 22 in Xinjiang

China reported 46 cases of the new corona virus in the mainland for July 25, up from 34 cases a day earlier, the health commission said on Sunday. Of the new infections, 22 were in the far western region of Xinjiang, according to a statement by the National Health Commission. Thirteen were in the northeastern province of Liaoning, while the remaining 11 were imported cases. China reported two new asymptomatic cases, down from 74 a day earlier.

 

Australia reports jump in daily new cases, record deaths

Australia's second-most populous state, Victoria, recorded 459 cases of the new corona virus, the second-highest daily total and up from 357 cases the previous day, the state's leader said on Sunday. Premier Daniel Andrews also told a press briefing that Victoria had reported 10 Covid-19 deaths in past 24 hours, Australia's highest ever daily number.
