its only very recently since 80s, that right wing movements have embraced liberty. It was left that fought for liberty for all of human history otherwise. and still does through various radical movements across the world.

there is a very small faction of the right, that is indeed for individual liberty. kaadhu ananu. but most of them demand fealty to family, to nation, and to a host of other silly institutions. they demand this, without giving nothing in return, other than an opportunity to participate in a darwinist game, where you may come on top or end up in anywhere else on the hierarchy. The right has a strict hierarchy for everything.

modern left is different. Though they act like the right in demanding all this, their attempt is to use the govt to help individuals. very clumsy but iteratively the only scientific way to approach governance, given serious limitations humans have for imagining better systems. Too much inertia. Everyone lazy and comfortable in their 'earned' positions.

left shakes them up. right (not as organization, but as individuals) too.

right lo whatever ideas maatladthunnaro, adantha left nundi dobbesindhey from the 50s.

libertarianism was a leftist movement in Europe. It was appropriated as a right wing idea only in the US by Rothbard in the 70s or something.

right and modern left is the structured the same with different end goals. US lo even libertarians support the existence of US as a nation and are proud of it. malli individual liberty gurinchi maatlade arahatha akkadey koli poyaaru, when you develop an unhealthy attachment (pride) to an institution. all hypocrites.

whatever economic models they constructed in the 70s fell apart after Bill Clinton accelerated capitalist expansion in the 90s. Now GoP sounds stupid whenever they talk about debt or the economy.

I think France was the only nation that recognized individual liberty as a natural right for a person. but only for a short time, and it was amended few years later in the late 1700s

US protection of individual liberty is the best in the world now. but it still comes with a lot of conditions and is not a natural right. giving such protections is the anti thesis to survival of a nation.

the nation, or any institution, is inherently oppressive. People only bear with it, because they don't believe they actually have a choice or know how to use it.

cheppina kadha, communists are part of the modern left. They are the same as right. but with different goals.

still there are leftists that fought against Soviet, like Nestor Makhno. right's aim to fight is always to create another prison to hold people. Left's idea is to release people from that prison.

communism is  left ideology. but practice is different.

in practice, the rule was not able to achieve non-hierarchical fungible institutions.

leftists dissociated themselves from communist thinking by 90s, and were exploring alternate localized models.

there are still a lot of communists today. They are as rigid as the capitalists they fight against. over similar outdated models of governance.
