Why should I try to convince anyone? They are not in our shoes. My point is as long as an employer has more power there is a chance of rampant abuse. And a h1b cannot lobby. Rules oppukovu. Employers can lobby as much as they can since they benefit. Overall the status quo will be maintained.

Your comparison of that to slavery is asinine, if you can't convince even a single person that this is how slavery used to be then your rant is of no use. Have you been in shoes of those who underwent slavery? So what gives you right to compare it to slavery? Different yardsticks aa for different people?

If your own fellow Indian Americans lobby against granting people the ability to have more freedom on H1B, then do you expect the larger American community to lobby on your behalf?

Slavery as it was previously will never happen again in US ever again. But that does not take away the fact of the power dynamics at play. Tied to an employer for eternity. Why do Indian Americans lobby against it? Because they benefit from the system. Remove the system and no one will lobby.

Awareness ledha enti lawmakers ki. Most know everything. Inkem awareness kavali. Calling sharing experiences and media spotlight anni ayyayi. We are a small part. US eppudaithe competitive advantage loose avuthundo appudu vasthayi changes. Comprehensive immigration changes. Just like how UK is opening doors again. Just like how CHIPs act is trying to bring back semiconductor manufacturing. Appati daaka don’t expect any changes. As long as status quo is maintained nothing will change. That may be 20 to 30 years down the line.
