Yes. Also it needs to expand to more routes before people start using it more. Parking also not much available and costly.

80 lakh ridership for 100days is like 80K/Day.
That's double than HMR has expected on Nov 28th-2017, when they opened the 30KM Line

Hyderabad: A staggering 80 lakh plus passengers have travelled in Hyderabad Metro Rail services in the first 100 days after it was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 28.

Hyderabad Metro Rail has been hitting the headlines for breaking several records, especially in terms of patronage. And, in tune with its performance, overwhelming statistics are surfacing out from the HMR books after 100 days of operations.

Passengers travelling in the Metro trains are being greeted with these statistics on the video screens installed in the services. During the first 100 days, over 10.2 lakh kilometres operations have been completed and 36,186 train trips were operated helping passengers reach their destinations comfortably and conveniently.

All through these days, the services were operated with high precision and authorities said the trains were operated with 99.2 punctuality. Considering the patronage, there is immense pressure on the HMR authorities to increase the number of trains, besides frequency.

At present, Metro services are being operated on the 30-km stretch from Nagole to Miyapur and nearly 400 services are being operated with 18 trains every day.

HMRL is making efforts to increase the number of trains from the existing 18 to 22 from April after obtaining necessary clearances from Commissioner Metro Rail Safety.

This apart, the emphasis is also being laid on operating a train every 6.5 minutes for the convenience of passengers. Presently, about 70,000 passengers are believed to be travelling in Metro services every day and it escalates to 80,000 passengers on weekends and holidays.

To make things convenient for the passengers to ensure last mile connectivity, bicycles have also been introduced by a couple of organisations, besides bike taxi services as well.
