This is a real problem amd my sister went through hell with her son.  At 3 the doctors diagnosed him as autistic because he had repetetive behaviors and he was not talking. After that he was in lots and lots of therapies for 3 years Speech, ABA and OT. Now he is talking well and his repetitive behaviors have greatly reduced.. He is very intelligent and very ahead in school in math and english but in some ways he is still different. He doesn't make a lot of eye contact and he wants everything organized. He likes only some colors and foods etc.. My sister and bro in law went back to India for good last year.. In India no one cares about these things and he has improved a lot with playing with other kids and social behavior. He started speaking telugu too. Now he is 8 and only if you really observe him very closely you can tell that he is different, otherwise people will just think that he is a shy kid. On the flip side he is very bright and intelligent. He memorized the whole table of elements and symbols in chemistry at 8.. Even Bill Gates, Mark Juckerberg, Albert Einstein are believed to be on the autism spectrum..Autism is a spectrum and on the higher functioning side you will find a lot of shy/intelligent people.. Now when I think about it, naa BTech lo topper I think is on the spectrum. He barely talks, doesn't make much eye contact but he is very bright.. If you have any doubts start therapies right away.. With right therapies most of the kids on the spectrum will turn out fine once they are around 7 or 8..

USA lo they expect the kids to be a certain way and if they are not, they will label them with autism.. India is more accepting of shy people who wants to stay in their own world..If you close your eyes and think you will be able to think of some people that you grew up with that might be on the spectrum.

sorry abt that man ! Hope ur sister’s family is feeling better now

They are doing fine now. My nephew is very bright and excelling in school.. He is like a little scientist.. In India even if we tell anybody that he is autistic they laugh and say we want a son like your nephew -> he minds his own business and is very intelligent..

Chaalaa mixed responses vastunnaayi vayya....while some of them very sound advises and some wild guessing. Often poorly advised assumptions and sweeping it as nonsense and nothing to worry. It is a very concerning issue about a poor child and his development issues. Autism is a long long condition with a huge spectrum of difficulties. So definitely need the kid checked by a professional for proper assessment. Coz they do check for important age appropriate development milestones and repetitive behaviours. There are few typical behavioural traits displayed by the kids with autism, like extreme sensitivity to few issues, like loud noises, meltdowns, lining up the toys / objects, poor sleep, extreme obsession for only selective 3/4 types of food, extremely upset while hair cutting & nail cutting, poor play skills, inability to join interactive plays like rolling a ball back to adults etc, regression in speech. So there's a wide spectrum of early indicators, the professionals can easily identify without wrongly labelling the kid. Cant stress more of the importance it is dealt with the absolute care ,coz  early diagnosis is the key . If it is really autisim, Ookey India pampistey, thaata la daggara vadilestey poyyey issue kaadu. Plus he will miss out the window for early intervention and support.

India is worst option, see u r doc......go for another baby ASAP

India veltey...Venu swamy laantodu nenu taggistaa antaadu.

'Having another baby ASAP' - not a safe / wiser option. The harsh reality is, Cant rule out the chances for second baby too, though its only a probability but a tough decision.

US lo everything is an exaggeration... BULLSHIT

autism and personality are 7ucking different............

this is a research article

DCD, a neurodevelopmental condition, affects between 2 and 7 percent of school-age children. It is considered one of the major problems afflicting school-age children around the world. Symptoms include poor balance and coordination and underdeveloped handwriting skills. They struggle with basic childhood activities such as riding bicycles. Children with DCD tend to have limited or no athletic ability, are more sedentary and therefore more prone to obesity. They also are more likely to suffer from low self-esteem.

logic in US

Normal life style, if u wanna babies then follow in a quick succession so that all babies grow together with same stress for a limited span of time, say @5 yrs, after 5 or 6 yrs, mother's stress gonna drop considerably.

coming to u r point

Having a baby or not, is a tough decision at all times, but now moving forward, they can have a professional recommendation & second baby is always a great help for a full time autism child care mom
