I really dont see telugu people as hindus . This whole hindu gindhu is a british invention. Telugu people are vicitims - one of caste and another of india itself. Many telugu OC's dont realize they are getting a rod from india. My hope is once they realize they change for better. And i also beleive it is delhi whic strengthes caste. Left to ourselves we would have solved it long time back. TG actually solved in 1940s itself with sayudha poratam.

telugus are not a victim mongering group. atleast telugu uppercaste are not. This fascination with Hindutva among Telugus is simply a power move.

personally, I'm okay with India as long as its not hostile to AP/TN. we should milk all that is possible to be milked from India, and secede when the time is right.

you call this an argument?

gullible Hindus are being converted and then what? what is the endgame of those that hatched this plan?

you are such a simpleminded idiot.

Converted to solidify their vote bank. The money for conversions comes from foreign countries which means people can be influenced by preaching the righteousness of other countries and increase hatred toward India.

Yes, if they are officially Christian or Muslim they should not have castes. They aren’t officially converting into Christians. They are still Hindus to get Sc/ST reservations- which Christians or muslims are not entitled to have. That is cheating the system.

you talk a lot of bullshit.

as if christians and muslims are monoliths. they are also made of sects and tribes asshole.

Good that you see the hypocrisy in other religions. The pretext of conversions is that they are all the same and equality is supreme. They are being converted by lies then.

solidify whose votebank? you mean congress? haha...

this is like mid 2000s rumour mongering. India has moved past it with muscular Hindutva bulldozing every group in its path.

But they were born into the caste, so they behave like that caste. Just like you said, so what's wrong if they keep that caste? What has religion got to do with it? Will changing religion, change their behavior, you say no. So, shouldn't they keep their caste?

They are keeping their caste my friend. They can take it off officially, but they won’t.

They are keeping it, because people like you think they still behave like their caste because they are born with it. In other words, just because they change religion, they can't get rid of the discrimination. So, what's wrong if they keep it?

that is literally not the pretext for conversion. the appeal is of Jesus is god's chosen one and blah blah..

most people who do convert don't understand the concept of equality. They convert because they find community. It does become political at a later stage, but not in the way you think it does.

it actually weakens their group bargaining power since they are now split by religion.

they can't take it off, because each caste has their own church. They won't be allowed into other churches.

now don't irritate me with things like 'christianity is unequal blah blah'. I never claimed they are better than Hindus.

They aren’t officially changing to Christianity. Unofficially they are Christians and officially they are Hindus with their caste certificates intact. They do this to get their reservations.

Good that you agree that other religions don’t provide anything more than Hinduism and it is all done to influence people. @Pillipilla here is your answer. There is no honesty in conversions just selfishness.

so what do you think is the solution? that govt must punish those who convert by taking away reservations from them, because the constitution identifies only hiindus as eligible for reservations?

or should the govt work with them to find out ways to help them so they don't have to convert out of necessity?

what do you think the govt's job is? to fulfill the laundry list of wishes of uppercaste people like you, or to govern everyone equally, and take everyone into confidence while framing laws?

People convert to seek a better life. If they get a better life or not is secondary, but they should be able to, especially if they are trying to get rid of caste discrimination.
